1. Introduction / Scope
Tolvan (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a wallpaper application that lets you browse and set wallpapers using content from third-party sources. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with the Tolvan mobile app. It applies to your use of Tolvan on Android and any other platforms where the app is available. By using Tolvan, you agree to the practices described here.
2. What Information We Collect
We and our service providers may collect or process the following in connection with the app:
- Device and identifiers: Device type, operating system, and advertising-related identifiers (e.g., advertising ID) may be collected by our ad partner (Google AdMob) to serve and measure ads. We do not collect your name, email, or account credentials unless you explicitly provide them (e.g., for support).
- App usage: General usage of the app (e.g., that the app was opened, that ads were shown) may be processed by AdMob for ad delivery and analytics. We do not run separate analytics or crash-reporting SDKs unless we add them in a future version and update this policy.
- Purchases and subscriptions: If you subscribe or make in-app purchases, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) processes purchase and subscription status. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details; payment is handled by the app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) and RevenueCat.
- Content interactions: If the app lets you save favorites, recents, or settings, that data is stored on your device only unless we explicitly state otherwise in the app or in a future update to this policy.
- Wallhaven API key (if applicable): If you optionally enter a Wallhaven API key in the app, it is stored only on your device (e.g., in local app storage) and is not sent to our servers. Requests to Wallhaven’s API are made from your device using that key.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide and operate the Tolvan app, including loading wallpapers from supported sources.
- Display ads (via AdMob) and measure ad performance.
- Manage subscriptions and entitlements (via RevenueCat) so that premium features work correctly.
- Improve app stability and experience to the extent our service providers support that (e.g., ad-related metrics). We do not use the information to build a profile for purposes beyond providing the app, showing ads, and managing subscriptions, unless we clearly say so in an updated policy.
4. How Ads Work (AdMob)
Tolvan uses Google AdMob to show ads (such as banner, interstitial, or native ads). AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID and other signals to serve relevant (personalized) ads and to measure how often ads are shown and clicked. You can limit or reset your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (e.g., Android: Settings → Google → Ads). Even if you limit ad tracking, ads may still be shown on a non-personalized basis. AdMob’s use of data is also governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy governing its processing of data:
- Wallhaven: The app may request wallpaper content from Wallhaven’s API. When your device does so, Wallhaven may receive your IP address and request details. Use of Wallhaven is subject to their terms and privacy practices.
- Google AdMob: Used to serve and measure ads. Google may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data. See Google’s Privacy Policy and ad-related settings.
- RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app subscriptions and entitlements (e.g., “Pro” or premium features). RevenueCat may process app store transaction data and a pseudonymous user ID. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
We do not control these providers’ data practices. If we add other SDKs (e.g., analytics or crash reporting) in the future, we will update this policy to describe them.
6. Data Retention
Data stored only on your device (e.g., favorites, settings, or an optional API key) remains until you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. We do not retain that data on our own servers. Data processed by third parties (AdMob, RevenueCat, Wallhaven) is retained according to their respective policies; we do not set or control those retention periods.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information used in connection with Tolvan (e.g., by relying on industry-standard practices of our service providers and secure app storage where applicable). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Tolvan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own by our service providers (e.g., Google, RevenueCat). Those countries may have different data protection laws. By using Tolvan, you acknowledge that such transfers may occur in line with this policy and the providers’ policies.
11. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- Ad preferences: Use your device’s ad settings (e.g., “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android) to limit or reset your advertising ID.
- App data: Uninstall the app or clear its data to remove locally stored information (favorites, settings, API key).
- Subscriptions: Manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account.
- Requests: For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, contact us (e.g. through the app or your usual support channel). We will respond in line with applicable law. We do not offer separate GDPR/CCPA portals unless we add them later.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at the same URL and will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Tolvan after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice where feasible (e.g., in the app or by email if we have your address).
